It is with profound sorrow that Uraia Trust announces the passing of our beloved colleague and friend, Gladys Muthoni Maina. Gladys passed away while receiving treatment abroad, after a battle we had all hoped and prayed would end in her recovery. We are grateful for the time, dedication and warmth she shared with the Uraia family, and we extend our heartfelt condolences to her family and loved ones. On behalf of the family, we thank all who stood with Gladys through her illness your prayers and support meant more than words can say.

Martin will be remembered for his warm smile, openness, and genuine kindness. He had a rare ability to make everyone feel comfortable and valued—always approachable, always willing to help, and always ready to contribute. Above all, Martin was simply human in the best sense: humble, caring, and connected to the people around him. His unexpected passing leaves a deep sadness, but his smile, generosity, and the memories he created will remain with us. You will be missed, but never forgotten.
Josh Baynton
Josh was the epitome of a supportive colleague - consistently working to make improvements, build strong relationships and bring people together. Drawing on his background in recruitment, Josh possessed a natural gift for connecting with different stakeholders across our business. He was someone who always chose to be positive, met challenges with an easy-going attitude and brought a genuine, infectious happiness to work every single day. Outside work Josh's absolute passion was sport. Whether captaining his local football team, the Clydach Wasps, supporting Manchester United or enjoying a round of golf, sports were a constant thread in his life and a favourite topic during team catch-ups. He was a natural athlete – including winning every single game of darts at a work social. In his role Josh was primarily responsible for calculating, validating and processing commission and bonus payments for our Inside Sales, Pre-Sales, and Professional Services teams. Every single quarter, 110 of our colleagues relied entirely on Josh’s precision, dedication and timeliness to ensure they were paid accurately and on time. He showed up for his colleagues every single day and that contribution will not be forgotten. Josh was 27 years young and a cherished son, brother, partner, friend, and colleague. He will be forever missed.
Lee Marchi
Lee was one of those people who made everywhere she went feel more alive. As part of our Perks partnerships team, she brought boundless energy, a quick wit, and a warmth that people felt from the moment they met her. She led the Perkbox choir with characteristic flair, loved music deeply, and was rarely seen without her loyal Pug, Pierre. Those who worked with her remember how easy she made everything feel: she was funny, unpretentious, and genuinely kind. She had a rare gift for making people feel seen and at ease, often in the same breath as making them laugh. Lee fought breast cancer with the same spirit she brought to everything else: honestly and bravely. She is deeply missed. Our love and thoughts are with her husband Chopper and everyone who was lucky enough to know her. You'll notice Lee's birthday is listed as 1 January 1900. That's intentional. Lee always kept her real birthday a closely guarded secret, and we want to honour that. Some things are better left a mystery.
Mike Klym
Our wonderful colleague, Mike Klym, sadly passed away on 9th August 2026. Mike made a huge contribution in his 38 years as a civil servant, both to the department and wider civil service. Mike was a brilliant and caring colleague whose experience, expertise, quick wit and dry sense of humour will be sorely missed.
