Mark was both a friend and colleague to many people at Ocado. His compassion and willingness to see the best in others will be sorely missed, together with his great humour and generosity. We'd love for Mark's wife, Sam, to be able to share some of our memories of Mark with us, so please tell your stories, upload your photos or simply say farewell.

Working with Mark was an absolute treat. He was patient and kind and always there to help when you needed. With his pictures of his family and Dog Dobby and stories of his part in the Muppets to make us smile, but even better his zinger one liners to have us all laughing and wondering did Mark just say that?! But his cheeky smile always gave him away and I'll remember that very fondly. You'll be so missed x

I am so sad to write this and I am just lost for words. You will be incredibly missed by the team. I will miss your professionalism, incredible attention to detail and your sense of humour. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the support regardless of how silly my questions were. You always had time for people despite how awfully busy you were. We are all shocked and saddened to have lost an original member from our circuit gang. Mark attended circuits at the YMCA Watford since 1984. I feel like we have lost a family member, but we are lucky to have many great memories of Mark on social nights out. He will always be remembered by the circuit crowd fondly. As soon as we are all able to meet on a Thursday night beer, we will raise a glass to a dear friend. Condolences to Sam and Mark’s family. Peter Brotherston

It's the little things like Mark's cup a soup addiction and dog owning anecdotes as well as big things like his generosity of time and spirit to everyone - customers, colleagues and friends - that sum him up for me. Chatting during lockdown when he insisted on being present for the team while we sorted out laptops and he looked after everyone making the shift. He lived for his family and I'm honoured to have been part of his work family from the early CSTM times. The world is a poorer place without you mate. I'll be raising a Golden Vegetable soup in your honor.

I feel incredibly fortunate to have worked with Mark while I was at Ocado. Mark was in the first team I joined – we started off as just desk neighbours but quickly became unlikely friends. Every morning I’d come in and Mark would already be at the desk to say good morning; he was the person who taught and mentored me in my role; the person I’d turn to for question for advice. One of the few days Mark came in later than me was Halloween, when he strolled in dressed head to toe as a vampire (fake fangs and all!) to everyone’s surprise and thrill! We had such a laugh about his incredibly spontaneous costume – it was best in the office in my opinion! Even when we weren’t working in the same team, Mark always took the time to check in and how I was doing and say hello. He’d have to walk past my new desk to go to the kitchen and MANY times I’d see Mark go for a cuppa and go to join him for quick chat. Mark was an incredibly kind and generous person who genuinely cared – when he asked you how your day was, he meant it. He was a calm presence who guided and supported others, always with a smile on his face. I will forever hold fond memories of everyday moment with Mark – laughing about all the packet soups in his desk drawer, discussing his upcoming trips or walks with his wife & dog, and his surprising knowledge of UK grime music! You will be missed by so many Mark, and the world is a slightly less bright place without you. My thoughts go to all Mark’s family & friends
