William (Liam) O'Reilly

Dear Mairead and family, On behalf of everyone in BLOC, I would like to express how sad we were to hear of Liam's passing. He was, like many backstage workers in BLOC, one of our 'unsung heroes'. I had the pleasure to perform in front of many of the sets he worked on and always felt spoilt by the wonderful creations that Liam and his colleagues produced. We were blessed to have been able to have his talents within our group and will miss not only those, but also his generous nature and his wonderful approach to life - a real gentleman and a fine example to others. Dear O'Reilly Family - particularly Mairead - How very sorry I was to hear of Liam's passing. What a lovely man he was - and so many of us in our theatre community enjoyed the sets he created for a great many shows which you, Mairead, helped him so creatively with. Very sorry to hear this sad news. Bill was great fun to work with, so supportive, and the two of us enjoyed many a game of golf with him, both in the Wild Geese and MUGS. Our deepest condolences to Mairead and the family.

You have painted him well at the service ; gentle and courteous, a great listener, always ready for a laugh. That's how we knew the exemplary colleague he was. Thank you for allowing us to participate in letting him go on his next voyage, keeping it light but with a lump in our throats. Our sincere condolences to the O'Reilly family.
