Wakefield Council pays tribute to His Royal Highness The Prince Philip, the Duke of Edinburgh, following today’s announcement from Buckingham Palace. Residents are invited to sign the Council’s book of condolence here. The book will remain open until 5pm the day after the funeral.

I had the pleasure of meeting Prince Philip when I was a young girl at Elland Road when I was at middle school and we were doing some Scottish dancing, after he came and spoke to us all, cracking jokes. Great man will be missed xx
