Suzanne Carrell

It is with deep sadness that we inform you of Suzanne Carrell's death on Sunday at the age of 96 years old. Suzanne created the Alliance Française de Jacksonville in 1962 when she was a teacher at Jacksonville University. She was also the founder of the "Congrès de la culture Française en Floride" (Congress of French Culture in Florida) and was highly praised for her work in strengthening the cultural ties between the United States and France. In recognition of her work, French President Jacques Chirac decreed upon her the French Legion of Honor in 2002. In 2012, Suzanne Carrell also received the National Order of Merit.
