Wat een verlies! Dankbaar voor de tijd dat Rens onze trainer was met al zijn enthousiasme. Mijn condoleances aan jullie gezin, en aan familie, vrienden, collega's die nu verder zullen moeten zonder Rens. Alle sterkte!

Rens, I was a bit sad when you first left the VCE-PSV club. We played a bit together in the first team, you trained our team for many years.. You always replied with a big smile "Salut Etienne, ca va bien merci" with your best french accent. It was always nice to shake your hand when you were coming back to Eindhove to visit your old club. Always smiling.. I will miss you very much Rens, you were a great person and I am proud having met you in my life...

Heftig geschrokken door dit bericht. Ik wil Rens zijn gezin en zijn familie erg veel sterkte toewensen in deze moeilijke tijd.

I was shocked, stunned and extremely sad when I received the email regarding Rens' vital accident.. I couldn't imagine the picture of the Netherlands without him. He was one of the important people in my career life. He supported and inspired me when I worked as a trainee at Synspec in Groningen. It has been a week after I received the email, but I am STILL extremely sad right now when I think of his pass away. I don't know what to say at the moment, but I miss him very much already. He is always with me because he is in pary of my memory, a very important part. Rest in Peace.

We kenden elkaar al sinds de kleuterschool, verloren elkaar vaak uit het oog, maar kwamen elkaar telkens toch weer tegen. Dan spraken we alsof het nog gisteren was dat we elkaar zagen. Ik zal je nooit vergeten Rens. Heel veel sterkte familie, vrienden en collega's om dit verschrikkelijke verlies te dragen. Bart Thielen
