The loss of Pauline came as a tragic shock to all those who worked with and knew her. Pauline was a much loved colleague and carer and will always be remembered as the face, heart and soul of Talfourd Place. Everyone who knew Pauline has fondly remembered her kindness, her passion for children, and no matter who she encountered her unfailing commitment to making sure everyone who worked for children was kept honest and delivered. She was uniquely stylish, supportive and hugely respected by everyone, both in her role at Southwark and for her commitment as a Foster Carer. Pauline was a much loved friend and colleague who's loss will be felt deeply across Southwark and who's absence will forever impact us and our services. We continue to think of Pauline's family at this difficult time and want to offer the opportunity for everyone to offer their memories, feelings and condolences to be shared with her family.

On behalf of her team mates at Talfourd. We will always remember working together at the reception desk, trying to figure out the best and quickest way to help all those that came to the desk. We will remember Pauline sashaying stylishly into the reception area, walk through the doors and take her place behind the desk for handover/takeover of the desk. My thoughts and condolences to you, her family. Pauline will be missed a huge amount. We had many great conversations - at Talfourd Place; on the phone and even in clinic at Sunshine House. She was a great support to all the team and an immense support for our young people. Her insight was amazing; and she had a true gift for brightening up one's day.

Dear Pauline, I could not believe what I was reading when I heard of your passing. My heart genuinely broke. I remember it raining that night, and the following day. Those were tears of everyone who knew you, as well as the heavens welcoming you. 14 years I had the pleasure of working with you in Bradenham and Talfourd. I dreaded you not being in work, reception did not always run smoothly. You ran a tight, no nonsense ship. It was not just a job, you had time and empathy for ‘our’ children. Your skills of engagement cannot be taught, so genuine. People called you by many names, I liken you to one of the Supremes (how fitting now). You will reign supreme in Southwark, MANY MANY people have been touched by you in various ways. You know we meet people in our lives, some we gel with more than others. I am pleased that we gelled, you were truly a wonderful person. So ‘babe’ it is your turn to looked after in God’s heaven. It has been an absolute pleasure to know you. On behalf of my husband Cyril Davies, our condolence to Pauline's family. Our hearts go to them at this difficult time , loss. We could not believe our ears the morning that sad news broke out. We will miss Pauline's smile and warm attitude towards us each time we met. She was a darling , a friend/person who you are sure to always get a laugh/smile back from.
