Dad was the most amazing figure, a confidant, and a best friend while on earth, he touched the lives of those who lived around him in the most positive way. He has left a good legacy behind and we will continue to live with the wonderful memories we had with him.

UNCLE ROMANUS OGBONNA

Dee Pati, I find it extremely hard to describe you in the past, for I have not really come to terms with the reality of your death. Since that woeful day, Tuesday 21/9/21, when you had your last breath, I had nursed the folorn hope that what I thought to be a prolonged nightmare would end, but all to no avail. Well, God Almighty knows best, since he brought you into this world without consulting us and, saw you through thick and thin without asking for our input, we have no right to question Him for taking what rightfully belongs to him. Dee Pati, you were a brother in a million. You were also a bosom friend and a close confidant, whose wise council I will, forever, sorely miss. On Saturday before that Tuesday when you joined the Saints Triumphant, you requested to see me. We had really nothing to talk about. You told me you were feeling fine. In my presence you were served breakfast which you ate with relish. Little did I know we were meeting for the last time in this terrestrial realm. It has been so agonizing to think that you are no more. So, in practical terms I will no longer sit with you to take our meals together, drink together and share fond memories of our years of innocence and the great moments we shared together in our youthful days. Oh! Death can be such a kill joy!! So curel!!! Dee Pati you have run a good race and I have received with equanimity the relay baton you handed to me. I promise not to disappoint. The bond of unity , eununciated by you, which binds the entire Ogbonna Family together will remain unshakable. Dee Pati you are not dead and can never die. To live in the hearts of loved ones is not to die. Your memory shall forever remain in our hearts. Thank God you are not passing through an uncharted course. Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, who died on the Cross in atonement for our sins, has since charted your path to His heavenly abode. The Life you led while on earth made you a direct entry candidate for Heaven. So, continue to enjoy your blissful heavenly sleep till we meet to part no more.

Big daddy as we called you, the short time in which we knew you felt like we’ve known you for years , you made us understand that being in-laws is indeed amazing because you welcomed us with an opened heart. You were very calm, understanding, peaceful and I know the angels are rejoicing because heaven has gained another angel.. keep resting Prof..

Dadii!!! it's been weeks now and no one has called me Oludadiya. A name I love so much because it's was only you who had did right to call me that. I can't even phantom the fact that you are no more. Your death breaks me everyday and I seek tbe Lord's help for consolation. Dad! what do I do with all the funny gist I have for you! I wish I could hear that loud laughter from your voice whenever I say a funny joke. The other day, I remember our real first conversation as father and daughter while driving me to school. It was actually my first day at the University. I felt so sensed and You asked what my fears was? 'failure was my reply. You smiled and said, failure isn't defeat rather not believing in oneself. For every success i have achieved you were my cheerleader. You cried and prayed with me in my difficult moments. You the best Dad ever. Heaven has gained an Angel. Each time, I keep replaying the very day you died to see if there was something we could have done to prevent this evil death from stealing you away from us. I realized that you knew and you prepared yourself that very day. You read your Bible, said you rosary, you eat breakfast and lunch, you spoke to us (without saying goodbye forever), you anointed yourself, you sang songs of praises even in pain. And your last words was be strong and hold unto God. whenever I feel depressed and paranoid knowing I can't speak to you, your last words gives me hope. My Sweet Professor I miss you a lot but God needs you most. Sleep well Dad.
