I still remember only finding out after graduation that we lived in the same neighbourhood all through Senior secondary school. That was when I got to know you better, you were inspiring! You pushed yourself to achieve only the very best, you had big dreams and the focus and discipline needed to attain them. You were real, down to earth and so much fun to be around. It's hard to believe you're gone but I know you're in a better place. You fought well, now rest well, Brave Shalewa.

Dear Salewa, It's been difficult wrapping my head around the fact that you are gone. I have found myself flooded with memories of us all the way back to when I was 10 and you were 11 in ISL days. Even though we were classmates and friends, you always sounded wiser and motherly. You had this straightforward no-nonsense manner about you yet you had such a heart of gold. I remember that even at that age, I could confide in you, I could feel safe with you. That beautiful heart of yours is the recurring testimony about you on everyone's lips. Your quest for excellence, your kindness and compassion was so evident. You never settled. You were there for me during some of my trying times. Your words were always seasoned with goodness. Even during your struggles and health challenges, you were so positive. That bravery of yours continued to shine through even during the period of your illness. You'd always say to me, "Ayo, it will end in praise". Salewa, it is hard to believe that we are now referring to you in the past tense. I know you are in a better place singing with the angels. I pray for God's comfort and strength for everyone you left behind. We love you.

Salewa, The brief period we shared in secondary school reminds me of how friendly you are. I know you are in a better place and till we meet again, rest well.

You are now in Heaven enjoying a long stroll on the beautiful streets of Gold. I’d remember you for your kind heart, how you visited me consistently when my mum died in 2006 and I was alone cos my Dad was also admitted at the hospital at the same time. You were a great friend and you’d forever be cherished in our memories. Rest well Omosalewa. Join the Angels in singing GODs praises!
