Noel W. Solomons

RIP, my friend; you have always inspired me.

Very sad news - what a huge loss to the whole nutrition community and the world. Noel had a brilliant mind and was so professionally and personally generous. He was really a force of nature in so many ways. I will miss emailing back-and-forth about various research topics in child growth. He was always to willing to talk and engage and I learned a lot from him.

Noel -- what a giant! An inspiration and guide for me and so many others at the Friedman School, blessed by his presence and his work over the decades. Most recently in the Zoom era he has been a vivid presence at our seminars and dissertation defenses, asking the big questions that point the way forward. His knowledge, teachings, and spirit live on in all of us.

With tears in my eyes, I have to say this is so hard to believe..... Noel was such a special person - in every way. I have not been in touch with him in recent years, but just knowing he was somewhere - probably in Guatemala - making a difference in people's lives through his nutrition work, but also through his kindness and generosity, made a difference to me. The world has lost a beautiful free spirit.....and I am so sorry!
