NOEL PLAYFAIR (62), a father of eight, loving partner to Rachelle, a Railwayman for 44 years and a much loved character in many capacities known nationally across the rail industry sadly departed suddenly on Monday 16th January 2023 whilst at work in Portadown. There never has been and never will be a man so devoted to the job of Train Driver as Noel . He carried all the traits of the golden generation of driving and passed it on to us . He was kind , caring , loyal and I never ever heard him have a bad word to say about anyone . I saw him a few years ago when he came over to see Chris , and he hadn’t changed one bit. Never flustered , never stressed out , just Noel . It’s a very sad loss for his family and friends and indeed to those who loved , respected and looked up to him Noel . I’m not religious , but god bless you Mr Playfair , because your like will never be seen again . R.I.P
