Our colleague Dr Nemanja Trifunović, Associate Professor of Water Supply Engineering at IHE Delft, passed away unexpectedly on 26 March. Over more than three decades as an appreciated IHE Delft colleague, Nemanja impacted many lives. His dedication to teaching and supporting students was highly valued by all. Our thoughts are with his family. He will be missed.

Professor Trifunovic will always hold a special place in my heart even though I have never met him. I asked him via email once if I could work in his lab for my PhD. Although he had no openings in his laboratory, he replied to me and mentioned that I had a strong academic record. He is not unique just because of this response. He also forwarded an email to his other coworkers mentioning me as a potential candidate for their research groups. His kind gesture has given me more confidence that I'm a strong candidate as well. When I learned of this news yesterday, I was unable to hold back my tears. He is a wonderful person. I wish I could have had the chance to meet him. My sincere condolences go out to his family.

It is very said to learn about demise of Professor Nemanja. I got to work with Professor Nemanja in 2004 during my working tenure with Itpreneurs...for one of the Projects on Water distribution planning....He had an excellent knowledge about the Water Engineering...May his soul rest in peace

I like to express my sincere condolences. The short and very intense working relations I had with him, I will never forget. His advice was always an honest one, I always trusted him. He was an important pillar for me in difficult times and situations of the IHE. It is a big loss for the Institute and for his family. A saying of the German Poet Jean Paul I would like to quote "Remembrance is the only paradise where cannot being discarded".
