Michael Mahada was a Loving Family Man, a distinct and staunch Church leader, An Arch-Bishop, and a Head of Security at Sol Plaatje University who also worked for Wits University for more than three decades. Michael Mahada was a man with extremely high ideals, he was a person of sober habits, and he has a delightful charming disposition and high intelligence. He was loved and respected by many and he has sometimes a serious approach to others yet his lovely sense of humor makes him a person that most people love to be around. He was a pillar of strength to many and has been an inspiring father to many.

My condolences go to all of Michael’s family and those who knew him well. My memories of him are of a loyal, brave, reliable and empathetic man who lived his life based on unswerving values and constancy of purpose! He touched the lives of many in good and difficult times. He was an example to aspire to equal. May he rest peacefully after a life of dedicated service. We were blessed by his presence.

Michael was a dear friend and colleague. He had an inner calmness and strength. He stood out always as a man of presence. Regardless of the circumstances he was never other than respectful reasonable and courteous. A kind man he was beloved by all. What a shock and sadness to hear of Michael's passing. He was a man who quietly made such a difference to the lives of so many of us at Wits University.
