Margaret Thrower

Margaret Thrower was born Margaret Tredwell in Birmingham. She was the widow of Eric Thrower, Mum to Linda, Steve and Jo, Grandma to Sam, Kate, Joel and Tom, sister to Andrew and a good friend to many. Throughout her years she travelled widely, met lots of people and loved life. She was involved in lots of things in her local community, including the National Trust, the Emmanuel Church and the League of Friends Chaplaincy at her local hospital. In short a real ‘doer’! She passed away suddenly after a stroke and the current situation in the UK means many cannot attend her funeral. A memorial service will be arranged when this is possible for people to attend.

I’m sorry but I hit the wrong button and posted before I meant to. I have many memories of our teenage years and meeting up in our later years. Especially of a holiday I spent at Kings Norton sleeping top to tail in Margaret’s bed! Happy times! I think that for us the best thing to come out of WW2 was meeting the Treadwell family. I first met Margaret over 10 years ago when I joined Saturday Strollers, and latterly we enjoyed a cup of tea and a chat. Margaret was a lovely lady, so welcoming, cheerful, interesting to talk to, always looked smart and well turned out. I shall miss you, Margaret.
