Lauren Swerdlove

I worked with Lauren at CARF. We were not in the same department and didn't work day-to-day with each other, but because my work involved usage of the standards manuals, we often would collaborate on discussions of style and standards and editing issues. I so enjoyed working with Lauren. She was always so friendly and funny and light hearted; she never seemed to get ruffled by anything. We would often joke about strange editing style things or commiserate over unrealistic requests. I always felt at ease with her and that I could openly and honestly discuss issues, and she was always very helpful and willing to take and provide suggestions. When we saw each other in the hallway or break room, we'd always stop to say hello to each other. She had a great smile and demeanor, and I will miss her. I send my condolences to her family and loved ones. It is a great loss.

Lauren was the best. She was always helpful on every every project we worked on together. During the standards revision process is when her patience and expertise really showed. I will remember her smile, her witty conversation and that I had the privilege of knowing and working with her. My thoughts and prayers are with her family and friends.

My sincerest condolences to you for such a great loss. Lauren was always very professional, calm, level-headed, and positive. The last time I spoke to her, fairly recently, she was so kind when I told her that one of my pups had passed. While she may no longer be with us in spirit, a part of her will always be in our hearts and memories. I would like you to read Henry Scott-Holland's poem, Death is Nothing at All, it has brought me comfort many times and I hope it does you as well. Lauren and I started at CARF at the same time and went through our orientation together. We have worked together many times over the years. She was always positive and had a smile for everyone. She will be greatly missed. I will be praying for your family during these very difficult times.

Lauren was so easy to work with on a difficult task of standards revision every year and helping to prepare for surveyor training. So patient and kind. A life taken too soon. I am sure she will be missed by all who knew her. Our thoughts are with her family.

Lauren was an incredible woman who was always quick to assist and make your work always better, clearer, and professional. Her sense of humor was always appreciated and her laugh and smile could always turn things around. I want to leave some words that have always gotten me thru the tough and terrible times of loss, they have always given me hope and pause..... John, my condolences to you and your family. So sorry to hear of your loss. Lauren was so much fun to work with and will be missed.
