Kevan Mulcahey

Kevan was a lovely person, fair minded, honest and reliable. I worked with him for several years at AGB/TNS and throughout that time, his commitment to his clients and to his team mates was of the highest level. Always the first to arrive (long journey down the M1!) and often the last to leave the office - even on a Friday. We kept in touch over the intervening years, both enjoying retirement, planning to meet up again this year. I'll miss him.

I cannot think of Kevan without seeing his beaming face, a smile which only ever diminished when things at work got really tough and even then only temporarily. He was a great colleague, a great support and someone who brightened every day for me and those around him.

I was so sad to hear of Kevan’s passing. I started working for Kevan as he led the move to bring Alcovision under the Worldpanel banner – a period of no little change as two working cultures came together and Kevan was instrumental in making it all work, under real pressure. I learnt a lot from my time working with Kevan, which I have carried with me in my own career. When I first met him I remember being struck by how knowledgeable and respected he was across the Alcohol industry – and also by his frequent use of humour (especially dad jokes!) in his client presentations. Seeing his way of working made me want to become an expert in my own field, and also gave me the confidence to add a more light-hearted note to my own presentations. I also remember his drive to push the Alcohol seminars at a time when Worldpanel would not have done the same at an industry level anywhere else – apart from giving me the chance to deliver a presentation at the Tower of London and drive a quad bike around a the garden of a stately home, these events and Kevan's approach also set the blueprint for other parts of Worldpanel to work on boosting (and shouting about) their industry expertise as another way to set ourselves apart from the competition. Kevan was a warm-hearted soul who tried to see the good in people first and always had a good story to tell. He was taken from us far too soon, and we will all miss him greatly.

We were deeply saddened by the news of Kevan's passing having known him for 40+ years. We fondly remember him, along with Kate as our first, much needed, babysitters. We recall the several trips we made together to northern France when Kev had acquired a reliable car and a desire to learn a little conversational French. He will be missed.

I was so shocked and saddened to hear the terrible news about Kevan. I only worked with him for a few months before his retirement, but I really appreciated his no-nonsense, and wry approach to working life, and the genuine care he had for the team around him. My deepest condolences to all Kevan's family and friends.

I was lost for words when I heard the sad news about Kevan. I had the pleasure to work with Kevan for a number of years up to his retirement. Kevan always had such passion for life (his family, music (though maybe we didn't aligned tastes!), gin, cars, tattoos....) - he was fun to be around, hugely supportive, great to work with and liked & respected by everyone at Worldpanel over many many years. My thoughts and condolences go out to Kevan's family.

I first met Kevan in about 2007, when he asked me to help his team feel better about their workload, not to take their work home with them, and be free from overwhelm - regardless of targets, tough circumstances etc. His attention to his team's wellbeing was ahead of its time. I was really saddened to hear of his passing, way too soon. All I thought of to do was to write him this message on LinkedIn, knowing he wouldn't be able to read it: "Kevan, I know you can’t read this. I’m sorry I wasn’t in touch more over the past 5 years or so Thank you for letting me in to be with you and your team. I was so inspired by your heart and caring for your people and always smiled as we said hello if I saw you on my visits into Hanger Lane. I hope you’re smiling somewhere now. You were loved, my friend" Wyn

I first met Kevan very early in my career at PAS and had the pleasure of working and socialising with him on and off for many many years. Reading some of the memories shared by others brought back fond memories - Giles absolutely nailed it when talking about Kevan's "OCD" with regards to Microsoft fonts! A man of extremely high standards, he could be tough to work with but for all the right reasons - he demanded excellence and wouldn't rest until he got it. A big man with a deep voice but deep down a gentle giant, extremely kind and caring with a genuine empathy for others. A wicked sense of humour, infectious laugh and never seemingly bothered to be on the receiving end of a joke. My thoughts go to his family and close friends, he will be missed by many. Dave xxx.
