Had the opportunity to meet Mrs & Mr Thakurdas only on a few occasions during our visits to Bangalore. But those few interactions were made memorable by the warmth, sincerity and affection that radiated from them. I fondly remember uncle regaling us with stories from the cricket pitch while aunty spoke about those bygone days at Allahabad. They both belonged to a generation that gave so much and took very little in return. I was fortunate to have met aunty on 23 July. It never occurred to me that it would be the last time I would meet her. My heartfelt condolences goes out to Anamika, Rachna, Alok, Sanjay and the wonderful grand children. RIP Uncle and aunty. Will miss you both.

I remember your Stanley Road home Rachna Thakurdas. It was beautiful full of books, poem and air filled with literature English and Hindi. In a lot of ways whenever I think of Allahabad I feel your home and parents truly represented it. Remember how beautiful your mother looked in her beautiful sarees . It is difficult to believe that never again will we meet your parents Have really wonderful memories of your parents and remember the regular conversation was filled with witty repartees! Wish you love Rachna, wish you strength - your parents will always be remembered by all of us

Dear Anamika, I just saw your Facebook post about the passing of your Mom. May she rest in peace. Know that she is now in a special place with your Dad from where they both will watch over you and your sisters. Plus, people that depart from this earth never truly leave, for they are still alive in our hearts, and through our fond memories, they live on. May God give you and your sisters the strength to get through this difficult time.

We were deeply saddened to learn about the sad demise of your dear mom. It is indeed so painful to have to deal with this loss and sorrow so soon after your dad's passing last year. Yet, we can find comfort in knowing that she has found peace in a place free from suffering and pain. Please know that you and your family remain in our thoughts and prayers during this sad time. With heartfelt sympathy, Sumit and Serene

I remember aunty since I was 4 or 5 yrs old. Always so kind and sweet. Such a wonderful cook. Remembering the lunches at your house with her yakhni pulao, playing badminton and generally having a good time.
