Memorial

Julie Kropacz

xx xx, xxxx - xx xx, xxxx

Our dear friend and colleague Julie Kropacz, Head of Quality, Improvement and Transformation at Herts Urgent Care (HUC), sadly passed away of cancer on 13 August. After being with HUC since its formation, it's impossible to describe how sadly she will be missed and her passing leaves a huge gap. She initially started as a Driver and District Nurse Call Handler and over time progressed through our services to becoming a key leadership figure. Julie wanted to deal with her illness in her own quiet and private way. Our executive team supported her along the way to help her and her family through this sad and dark time. We are all incredibly shocked at her passing - we know she is loved and respected by so many people at HUC, and many of you will be thinking of her and carrying her in your hearts. Julie was also well known to many of our commissioner colleagues and other stakeholders and we know they share our pain at losing her. This online book of remembrance is a way for us to capture our memories of Julie for her family and for the future. From an organisational perspective, she was absolutely instrumental in the set up and launch of all our services, as well as many pilots and service enhancements. Yet she also always had an ear for colleagues and acted as a role model and inspiration for many with a can do attitude. She will never be forgotten. Our hearts and thoughts go out to her husband Mark and daughter Phoebe at this very difficult time.

Heaven is a better place with such a lovely, bright and friendly lady in its midst, and how much poorer are we for losing someone who added so much to our lives. Rest well Julie, you will be sorely missed by all who knew you xx

I was shock and saddened to hear the news of your passing Julie. I had the pleasure of working with you over many years and you have always enjoyed our working relationship. Thinking of your family and loved ones. God bless x

I hardly knew Julie as I work predominantly evenings, but on the occasions I bumped into Julie she would always smile and say hello. Over the years I quickly came to realise that Julie was very much a key component of HUC and that there was nothing she did not know. On really busy times (eg Christmas, Easter) Julie would always be present on the 'shop floor' offering support and sustenance and not once did I see her worrying or panicking (when many around her were!). Julie had a quiet grace and dignity and seemed to genuinely care for others. My thoughts are with her family and friends at this time. Nikki x

Trying to come to terms with the loss of dear Julie. A gentle kind person who I remember from the early days of HUC. She was loyal to colleagues and spoke fondly of her family when we chatted in the Kitchen. My heart goes out to Mark and Pheobe. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.

Julie I can’t remember a time you weren’t there, at the centre of our HUC family. You were taken from us too soon. Lots of memories were shared today and we will continue to remember you always. My heartfelt condolences to Phoebe and Mark. Lots of love. X

On my very first day at HUC, I was really struggling to find a Clinical Advisor to answer a question I had about Pathways. Julie saw me panicking, came up and introduced herself, and then answered my question. She was so helpful on that day, and thereafter, even when she didn't have to be. I didn't know her well, but she was a lovely person to work with. Phoebe and Mark, I'm so sorry for your loss.

Words can not describe the deep sadness on hearing about Julie's passing. Julie will always be remembered as strong, independent, tenacious yet incredibly warm hearted-forever putting the needs of others first. She was never too busy if you needed help. Julie always saw the potential in others and always had wise words of advice along with a great sense of humour! Julie, thank you for all your support over the many years. You are going to be sorely missed by so many. My heartfelt condolences to your family x

Dear Julie, You were strong yet gentle, a protector but not aggressive, a rock, but pliable. You will be greatly missed. Rest in peace...….
