I’m so saddened to hear about the passing of Bernardo. I am indebted to Bernardo for his help when I started working on DNA topology and educating me in the power of two dimensional gels (and also how to properly entertain visiting speakers when I visited Madrid). He was always fun and interesting to talk to and i will miss his friendly presence and long-sighted views on science. My deepest condolences to his family, friends and colleagues.
