A truly wonderful friend and work colleague we had some absolutely amazing times. John was a very unique individual he brought so much joy, happiness into peoples lives he enjoyed making people feel happy and good about themselves he left his mark! The delight of knowing him and being in his company was tremendous we take our hats off to you John and say a very big thank you for us all allowing to know you and share your friendship and generosity You will forever be remembered all the very best my dear friend Bob Ashworth

I meet John some years ago in NYC I've have had the honor of laughing with him so hard I cried! He had the uncanny ability of telling a story or singing a song that it would lift you up when you were down, I shall miss our conversations. My deepest condolences, for your loss!

A most wonderful character & human being. Lived life & enjoyed it to the full,but never forgot his family or roots. RIP John,you will be sadly missed by so many.

Shakespeare said that "Some are born great, some achieve greatness, and some have greatness thrust upon them" but Johnny was so much more. I would love to say that he was great to be around: his eclectic circle of friends making him one of the most liked people that I have ever had the pleasure of meeting, but I have so many lost days. Mostly due to just popping out for a pint... and losing two or three days! Johnny had so many friends, He was always a pleasure to be with, whether it was with his great musical skills, or just removing a colony of bees from his garden. His passing is such a great loss to us all.

It's really difficult to write something about John. I have a fear that whatever I put down will not do the man, and his life, the justice it deserves. He truly was a one off and very much larger than life! I have said before that "bumping" into John was always one of life's great pleasures. He always had time for you and was always interested in you and your life and would do anything to help you. Fantastically funny and extremely talented! No matter how much life was getting you down, as it can from time to time, fifteen minutes with John and your whole world seemed to be a hell of a lot brighter! He really was that special! I'm sure he will be missed by many, many people but my heartfelt condolences go out to Barney! (If Heineken did father and Son relationships!....just Wow!!) I shall miss you Johnny! (Horse)
