Jean Drouffe

To all of Jean Drouffe's family, I am sorry for your loss. I worked under Jean Drouffe in 2008. He really was an amazing leader and I have so many fond memories when I was working under his leadership. All of us in the team were so happy. I am so sorry to hear that he passed away at such a young age. I will keep him in my prayers. May the Lord send love, blessings and peace to his soul.

Devastated to hear of the untimely passing of Jean. Jean had a tremendous impact on my early career to the point I can honestly say I doubt I would have had the opportunities I have been fortunate to have had without that early support from him. My thoughts are with his family and I’ll be raising a glass to my incredible colleague, mentor and friend who I will miss dearly.

My sincere condolences to Jean's family at this time. I have known Jean for many years over our careers at AXA and I always appreciated his kindness, his humanity and the wise advice he shared with me on more than one occasion. I will miss him.

Dear Jean Drouffe, my friend. It has taken me a few days to be able to put these few words up, as it is difficult to acknowledge that you are somehow not down here anymore. I have had the honour to support you through your fight from the early days of your diagnosis till the last. You called, and the minute i heard your voice, we immediately connected. You were so humble, warm, focused and with such inspiring energies. You spoke with a smile anyone could hear. The voice of a hero. I knew that we shall, together with Armelle Drouffe, hand in hand, fight this fight together. We consulted on your behalf with world leading specialists on an on-going basis, sent you to additional tests, challenged everyone & left no stone unturned, to give you access to no less than the best of treatments. From the start, the doctors told me, Sigal, Jean has only about 3 months to live, yet I always replied, you say that because you don't know Jean. He is a hero. A rare cancer for a unique person. He will not let go that fast. A Hero. We had so many deep conversations, talked about life, the love of your life Armelle Drouffe, your children, the prides of your life, about work & life at AXA, and about the treatments, pains, side effects, diets, yoga, meditation and the future.  You never let a setback pull you down and you just never ever complained. At worse, you would tell me, "Sigal - j ai si et ça, mais ne t inquitès pas, ça va (Sigal, I feel this and this, but dont worry, its ok)". A hero every day. Always fighting in such an inspiring way, Jean. At some point i told you: "Jean, if i ever get sick, the only thing i will try doing, is just trying to be you. Even if i only get to be half of how you are, its already so much." My hero. You didn't give up and at some point things got much better. You outlived all medical predictions and statistics.  You had to have it your way! You worked every day and inspired. You led and closed deals between doctors appointments. You zoomed the world, called people & supported your teams every day. You wanted to have the time to do things, put things on the right track. Be with your family. You led by example. Everyone's hero. Last week you were unable to talk anymore. I sent you a long voice message. From your last and thoughest round, you smiled a "Jean smile". You sent a smile that filled the world with your energies. Nomatter how rough it got, you always smiled with your heart. Our hero. Now you are resting in peace somewhere, watching over all of us from a far. But you have not left us, as heroes are here to stay. Heroes live forever within each and every one of us. They shed light and lead us by example. Heroes define us, who we are and how we grow as people. You are our Hero and here to stay. I can see you out there Jean.  I can see your smile and i hear you telling us: It's ok. Ça va. Thank you Jean.  PS. My condolences to Jean's family and loved ones. He was caring, optimistic and such an inspiration to many. Staff welfare in AXA Singapore improved tremendously under his stewardship. RIP Jean, you will be always remembered.

It took me a long while to accept this sad news. I was shocked to hear of Jean's passing when he seemed well during our November Board meetings. Jean has been a valued board member, always giving credit to the relevant person when due and challenge the status quo whenever he thinks we can do better. He is a kind and friendly person when he is not wearing his board member hat. He will be missed. May he rest in eternal peace. Our deepest condolences to his family.
