We are so sorry to hear of your loss. Peter & I had the pleasure of traveling in Israel with Hazel (& Bernie ) in Sept.2016. Not only do we remember her as a lovely woman but as a bright& vibrant one too! We watched in awe as she toured Masada on a 100+ day, rode a camel, and spent the day talking to me about her family as we sailed around on the Red Sea. With Sympathy, Lorri & Peter Friedman

I am so, so sorry for your sudden loss. My deepest condolences to your family. I was honored to meet Mrs Strauss (and Mr. Strauss) once at a Thanksgiving dinner at my darling Randy's home. I fell in love with them in a second. Such a loving couple!! I remember talking to Randy's mother about my divorce process. We were standing in the hallway. I was so impressed by her advice. I wanted to retain her as my attorney at that very moment!:-). We did have some good laughs though. I also knew Randy was very close to her mother. I remember a few conversations Randy and I have had in the past, where it was explicitly clear just how much her mother's advice and opinion meant to her. Mrs. Strauss reminded me then of my own mother who is the most strong woman I had known. I am deeply sorry for your loss, and I can only wish that time and all the beautiful memories of her will help with healing. Rest in Peace, Riitta Jaakkola

My daughter Alaina and I have been blessed to be a part of the Strauss family for over a decade (maybe longer - but time goes so fast!). We have had the opportunity to visit the Strauss family home in Jamaica and their beautiful Manhattan space. We have also visited the Strauss sister homes We loved all of our time spent with Bernie & Hazel. They have been the best hosts and we always felt so welcomed as stray friends from Los Angeles Hilary, Hazel and I began a journey a long time ago - My daughter Alaina and I are born Catholics. We have always embraced diversity through friendship and religious practice. We have enjoyed learning about all the Jewish faith/traditions and respecting the importance of different holidays.. Hazel was always certain to include diversity. This has been a lovely example for Alaina and Ameilia to recognize and respect humanity My fondest memory from Hilary and Hazel was the art of the "swipe" - a new practice for Catholic girls. I learned to pack my handbag with the extra food from a buffet - get a few things from the hotel that they "want" me to have . . . I loved this learning from Hazel (and Hilary). I am a practitioner today We enjoyed every moment with Bernie and Hazel. Alaina and I feel like family and it was wonderful to have known Hazel Strauss - on Facebook as well! Hazel was always interested to know what everyone was up to . . . . WE will miss your beautiful voice Hazel - but we feel close to your three incredible daughters that will carry on your vision . . . You prepared them to be smart and beautiful on the inside and outside - your project is complete! Rest now Monica & Alaina Georgopoulos
