Diego foi presente no imaginário de toda a minha geração e, ao partir, será vivenciado pelas futuras gerações de na maneira distintas na sua melhor parte, decantada pela sabedoria do tempo. In this time of grief, Brazilians join Argentinians in mourning the premature passing of Diego Armando Maradona, a son of Argentina and one of the greatest football players of all time. Maradona took part in many matches against the Brazilian national team. While rooting for our own, we never failed to admire the skill, the artistry and, indeed, the sheer beauty of Maradona’s playing. He brought joy and inspiration to countless people all over the world, including tens of millions of Brazilians. We are confident that his career, successful beyond imagination, shall inspire all of us, in Brazil, Argentina and everywhere, to believe in our dreams and to pursue them with determination and passion.
