Condolences

Just saw a movie....Remarkably bright creatures, and of course I thought of you all through. Death is hard, grief is harder, moving on is hardest. I wish there was a part of you left to hold on to, something tangible, but in truth there's parts of you all around me. Like horcruxes....lol. I miss that you're not here at this very moment. Please continue to show up for the rest of my life

Erhabor Ibie

Youre not just remembered, you are a part of me, i carry you everywhere with me, you influence my decisions and fuel my aspirstions. Maybe, just maybe this knowledge helps to deal with your physical absence.

Oghenevwovwe Ibie

The last time I shared on here, I was Oghenevwovwe Egbo. So many things have happened since then but I’m glad you were one of the inspirations behind me and Erhabor taking that final leap. Sometimes, I wonder what life would have been like if you were still here. Sometimes, I feel cheated, on behalf of the twins. I see how intertwined you were in the lives of everyone around you especially the kids and I so wish our kids got to experience that. As always, we submit to the will of God, seeing but a tiny glimpse of the big picture. And as always, you are sorely missed.

This is not a condolence to myself! I'm glad I didn't get many of those. I didn't need it! Though I understand why people give it yet it just like crying and wailing, it does nothing, whether to my spirit or to my soul. Eben is gone, just like that, from this world of which I'm still very much a part of, I won't see, talk to, hug or touch him again, never! He wasn't there at the high school graduation ceremonies, wasn't there to see Lase start his first job, and he won't be there for college graduations, milestone birthdays, marriages and naming ceremonies....there are no words to describe how it has felt or will feel....but for now, just one word, HEARTBROKEN!!!

I just received the news if your passing today with shock. I am so heart broken. It brought so many memories of our time together as brothers and roommates in UNIBEN. It brought back memories of hours spent together talking about how great the future will be for us. I got to know your family and you also got to know mine. You even came to Jo's to spend time with us. The hold hands if death robbed us if your light. I am lost for words. I went through our last conversations in July 2022. Little did I know I'd be talking to you for the last time. Rest in the Lord's bosom. You will be missed. Your memory will live with me for the rest of my life. Hmmmm. How can I be consoled! Who will give me answers? May God grant your family the fortitude to bear the loss. You are forever loved.

Brother, it's been a long minute. I remember our years as teenagers, as if they happened yesterday. Memories of your spontaneity, and of your joy, and generosity and large heartedness. You would light up a room with your smile...I could go on. And that, all of that really, cannot die. As long as men smile, there will be always be memories of your smile. As long as they sing, your song will go on. Love you man!!!

Hmm..Eben my brother for life. In my darkest times, you were a light, in my hardest and uncertain times you gave me hope and strength even in your stubborness, you always rationalised all your decisions, if it didn't go your way u would end by saying "it's my life and no one can change my perspective". Today I wish we can argue again and let me agree with everything u say. I saw u laying lifeless in a coffin, it felt like u would wake up any moment. I waited thinking u wiould say something, then the reality hit home when u went 6ft. You made a home in Hemminsberg, beautiful people, friends and loved ones who celebrated u like an African king resided in Germany. May God give u eternal peace wherever you go and give us all the strength to accept that's it! All we have now are your memories brother. Farewell, Eben my lovely brother, God knows best

I have tried many times to do this To write a memory, say how I feel, say what you mean to me But words always fail me My thoughts go blank and English language becomes non existent I’ve wondered if my words fail because I’m too hurt, because I’m still grieving, because I’m scared to admit the reality But I’ve realized my word fail because there are no words No words to describe how amazing you are No words can capture how thoughtful, kind, loving and full your heart is No words to explain the impact you had on my life, how present you were… how present you are To show What you meant to me… what you mean to me. I have no words but this… “I love you my darling Uncle Eben. I love you forever. Thank you for everything”
