Duncan Hartwig

Shocked to hear the news. I worked with Duncan at TfL and we had some great nights out and always loved his banter and laughs, occassionally we did some work! Such a nice guy and a great family man be sorely missed. My sympathies to family and friends.

I am so saddened to hear these news. Duncan and I were colleagues in the British Council and we also travelled together in Bahrain for a project. I learned so much from him professionally. Oh Duncan, you were a colleague from whom I learned so much, a friend, a person who everyone felt comfortable with and noone could ever argue with because your smile made even the toughest guys melt. Your heart was big and warm. You were too young to go now. Too soon My condolences to your wife and to your children and my warmest thoughts are with them in this difficult moment. You will be missed my friend. Your smile will stay with me as all the things I learned from you. Rest in peace my friend

I'm deeply saddened by the news. It’s terrible to hear about your loss. I pray that God will grant you the strength and I express my sincere sympathy to your family.

My deepest condolences to you and your family Wendy. He was a big part of our lives. Dean and I were discussing the other day how a person like Duncs only comes around once in a life time. My very best wishes to all of Duncan’s family at this very sad time. Though I knew him only briefly, I have very happy memories of evenings in Greenwich and beyond when Duncan’s humour and generosity led us on a true celebration of life. He was a delight and is sadly missed.

Im glad I was able to witness a beautiful service of a man I’d never had the opportunity to meet (maybe when I was too young to remember), who had such a larger than life and global impact on the lives of others, including friends and family. In the sharing of memories and stories, it showed a man who loved life to the fullest, a great passion for stories and truly devoted love to his friends and family. I’m truly blessed to witness this celebration of life. My deepest sympathies do go out to friends and family, Wendy, Digby and Matilda. May Duncan Rest In Peace
