Doulhourou Coulibaly

Dr Coulibaly was born in 1954 in Sinematiali a town in northern Côte d'Ivoire. He was the first non-French, non-white Director of the Stop TB programme in Côte d'Ivoire. He held different international positions in Djibouti, Zimbabwe and CAR among others. He was happily married to Soro Korotoumou. They have 3 daughters and 3 grandchildren. Dr Coulibaly will be missed by his family, his friends and colleagues /// Le Dr Coulibaly est né en 1954 à Sinematiali, une ville du nord de la Côte d'Ivoire. Il a été le premier directeur non français et non blanc du programme de lutte contre la Tuberculose en Côte d'Ivoire. Il a occupé différents postes internationaux, notamment à Djibouti, au Zimbabwe et en RCA. Il était heureux en ménage avec Soro Korotoumou. Ils ont 4 filles et 3 petits-enfants. Le Dr Coulibaly manquera à sa famille, à ses amis et à ses collègues.

It is with profound sadness that I have heard about the passing of one of our beloved and former colleague Dr Coulibaly whom we affectionately used to call Dr Doul-Coul or Dr Doulou-ross. Dr Coulibaly was a valuable and respected member of our team in Bangui/CAR who understood the true meaning of humanity. He worked with IFRC, supporting the Central African Red Cross and the government of Central African Republic in supporting communities fighting against tuberculosis. Dr Coulibaly was well respected by all the partners in the fight against tuberculosis in CAR and it was a great privilege to have worked and known him. I would like to extend my thoughts to his family, friends and colleagues. He will be missed. With sincere sympathy. Claude.
