David Campbell

David was the essence of a good club member. He was a super captain who always welcomed fellow members on their return to the club. Most enjoyable to play with. He will be missed. RIP.

I was deeply saddened to learn of DC’s passing and would like to express my sympathies to all who are bereaved. I will remember him as a tough competitor on the golf course but always a true gentleman with a great sense of humour. He will be sorely missed in the SRC. RIP.

I first met David in the early 90s. I always found him to be a charming friend, gentlemanly and restrained but who knew also how to have fun. He also went out of his way to offer his support and help when he thought it was required. I was very saddened to hear of the negative turn of events as we had arranged to meet after his treatment. May he now rest in peace.

David was a mentor to me when I moved to London from Dublin at 19. Although I was young David treated me as an equal and thought me many things that help me immensely to this day. It was a pleasure knowing you David and thank you for creating great memories. It's heartwarming to know that David was so loved and respected at the Golf Club and enjoyed every moment of his last year's. Ta-ta For Now DC.

Rest In Peace my friend I as many others will miss you greatly on and off the golf course a true gent and a great character you always arrived and left with that amazing smile , you will remain in my memory David.

Dear David, you were the first person, member, we met when i arrived to start my job as Head Professional at the SRC first of September 2016, you met us with open arms, so friendly to both of us, you then became Captain, what a year that was

It is rare to have the privilege to know a real character and DC was one David was mischievous, funny, caring and very clever. His love of people generally and San Roque folk especially, made many people laugh and feel special. I will miss him hugely and there will always be a “hole” at San Roque, especially in the bar.

David was a great companion and a super club Captain. I always enjoyed the 'experience' that went along with our games of golf. I will miss his joviality and mischievous company. A lovely gentlemen to enjoy golf with, will be sorely missed.
