Dean joined Juriba in October 2025 as a Senior Software Engineer and quickly became a valued member of the team, contributing to the Juriba KB project. He brought genuine enthusiasm to his work and clearly relished the challenges it offered. Throughout his time with us, despite undergoing treatment for cancer, Dean remained positive and committed. He will be remembered not only for his contribution, but for his resilience and quiet determination during difficult times. Dean was a respected colleague, and it was a privilege to have him as part of the Juriba community, however briefly. Our thoughts are with his wife, Mel, and his family and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of working with him.

I was deeply saddened to hear of Dean's passing. He was an enthusiastic member of the Juriba community who thought deeply about the problems he worked on and communicated his ideas with eloquence and passion. Above all, he was passionate about his family. He talked about his life with you, particularly on the East Coast. He was so proud of you. I particularly remember a video he shared of his daughter performing with an a cappella group at university—his pride in that moment was unmistakable. My thoughts are with you all at this very difficult time.
