Cristina Cherino

Very saddened to hear of her passing. She taught me Spanish between 2007-2009 at Lincoln Uni. Always helpful. Descanse en paz.

I knew Cristina from my time working at the University of Lincoln. Cristina was a lovely lady and we had many a good chat and a laugh. I will always remember Cristina with great affection. My condolences to her family and friends.

I loved working with Cristina, she was a close friend and colleague who always put time aside to be supportive and get stuck in. She was always cheery and a pleasure to speak with to brighten up the day. I will miss all those opportunities to catch up, but am very thankful to have worked with such a wonderful person.

I knew Cristina as a friend and colleague who was down the corridor from me. We always enjoyed a chat and could 'put the world to rights'. I retired a few years ago so we have not met up recently but I always remember her with fondness.

Cristina was a dear colleague to all of us in the Business School. Always with a positive can-do attitude and a spirit for justice. Cristina and I were just few offices apart and shared many corridor conversations, mostly about our daughters. She would talk with pride of her daughter, Elisa and the time she was about 8 years old and attended graduation with her mum was one of her special moments - can still see the photo in her little coat outside the Cathedral. Cristina’ s strength and dedication in retraining and making a success out of a crisis situation is a statement to her character and attitude to life. I have admired Cristina throughout the 12 years we have worked together. I am sure Cristina is among angels where she belongs, may her spirit rest in peace. With much love, Georgiana

Cristina was a brilliant Spanish tutor and role model. She was very supportive throughout my time at university and always happy to help with any queries, Spanish related or not. Rest in peace.

Christina was a great colleague, always friendly, always helpful, and so stylish. So saddened by such a tragic loss. Condolences to her family and friends.

Cristina was such a lovely colleague. She made a deep impression on us all. I had the real pleasure of being able to work alongside Cristina for many years. I always admired her spirit, her positive nature and her honesty and energy. She spoke her truth clearly and with integrity and always championed Modern Languages, her programme and her subject group and her students in a way that made a lasting impression. I can see her working with focus and purposefully in the language lab. She helped build and shape the university and many people truly appreciate what she did - both for them and for the growing University. On a personal level, I always enjoyed our occasional incidental conversations when we would catch up briefly on life outside University. It was always clear then what pride she took in her family and she always made me smile. She has left a lasting impression on me (and I'm sure many others) and this will always stay with me. My thoughts are with all her family and friends. Becky
