Dearest Caroline, You struggled as long as you could with severe mental anguish and tried your best to stay alive for all of us, your friends and relations, despite it and finally you just felt too tired of the pain to keep going. We release you with love, grateful for the time we had together. Now it falls to us to struggle with the pain of losing you.
Condolences

Scattered some of Caroline's ashes and our mother's at Reifel Bird Sanctuary where we took Anton when he was small to feed the ducks and the rest of both of their ashes at Galiano, where we holidayed so often as a family, on the Bluffs and in the cemetery there.

I wanted to express my heartfelt condolences to all of the family. For right now, there's no detour around grief, no shortcut through mourning. However, 2 Cor.4:7 says that God can give us, "... power beyond what is normal ", to go from one day to the next. This does not mean that we no longer cry, or that we forget. It means we recover. We recover because of our hope. Jesus Christ talked about our hope in John 5:28 which says, "...all those in the memorial tomb will hear his voice and come out ". Jesus was referring to the resurrection. That is our amazing hope! The Bible likens our hope to an anchor. Just like an anchor stabilizes a ship, our hope stabilizes us and keeps us from drowning in overwhelming sadness. 2 Cor.1:3 describes our Creator as, "... the God of all comfort ". One way that God comforts us is by moving people who care about us to give us words of encouragement that we need to hear. May the God of comfort be your comfort now, during this time of sorrow. Dear Caroline, I am so sorry you are gone. I still remember the first time I met you. You were all of 9 years old and busy baking cookies while your mother showed me the goats and all the white-throated sparrows migrating through your Dundas Valley yard. I shall remember you as that lovely little girl. My deepest sympathy to your brother and sister and nephew who will miss you dearly.

My condolences go out to the family. I am so sorry too hear of the lost of a dear loved one to this family. Dealing with this situation can be the hardest thing to face. God's word the bible gives heartfelt and true meaning for ones sleeping in death; Revelation 21: 3,4 says: 3 With that I heard a loud voice from the throne say: “Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his people. And God himself will be with them. 4 And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.” God also promises a hope for ones to have life again at John 5: 28,29a : Do not be amazed at this, for the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice 29 and come out. It's not really a condolence nor is it a memory, but I wrote it for Caroline. Thick black waves lap your golden shores Leaving pockets of oily darkness behind them Childhood joys stalked by baleful shadows And fitful memories repressed in the name of survival Thick dark tides recede too slowly Leaving you coated in black tarry fear and shame Woman’s dreams sullied by power abused And a lingering sense that you deserved nothing better What would you have become Golden child Eyes as blue as the skies, pale sunpinked skin Topped by waves of shining wheaten hair Had darkness not carried your hope away Had sorrow not rooted itself in your soul

Touching every object my hoarder, crafts-mad sister owned. Room after room and then the storage locker. Every children's song for the library kids in her handwriting, every postcard I ever sent her, every gift I or Anton gave her, her hopes and dreams all killed in an minute. She even worked out what drugs to take to die a quick, painless death. Her last status update minutes before she died, which only she could see, no one else said "Bye" . Her counsellor, whom she spoke so highly of, said she'd made such progress towards being happy, even Caroline had said it.But when that little sad girl who felt unloved and abandoned got in the driving seat, she crashed that precious life.
