Carol was loved beyond words and will be deeply missed by everyone whose life she touched. As a pioneer at the CPC in Vegreville in March 7, 1994, she held many positions and spent many years in domestic and overseas assignments. Over 27 years - she brought joy to the lives of many - the clients she served, the staff she mentored and the colleagues she worked with. Together, let's carry on Carol's memory....

It’s taken a little while for me to process and think of the right words; first and foremost, I am so very sorry for your loss

Carol is one of the kindest people I have met. She cared deeply about people and always made me feel that she had my best interests at heart and genuinely cared. She was a very empathetic person and I always felt that she understood me. I realize now that many people I work with felt this way about Carol. I will remember her always as a kind person who made a real difference in the lives of those she met. My thoughts go out to her family, close friends and all who had the good fortune to have met Carol.

I was really hoping to reconnect with Carol when she came to the Edmonton office. The year I started at CPC Vegreville was the year that Carol started her overseas career that continued for many years. I never ran into Carol at our new office in Edmonton and I always thought to myself that there was lots of time for that to happen, eventually one day we would bump into each other somewhere in Canada Place. I wish now that I would have made the trip up to the 3rd floor to find you and say hi. I remember the first time I met Carol was back in my “much” younger days when I use to hang out with her sister. I remember going to their mom’s house and meeting Carol for the first time. Her big smile and upbeat personality is what I remember most about her. I’m so sorry Darius that you lost your sister and friend. I’m heartbroken for your loss, I know how close the two of you were. Hugs to you and the rest of the family.

Carol was my very first supervisor when I started at CPCV. I found her to be such a caring and supportive supervisor. I was grateful to know her all these years, and to be able to reconnect with her more closely in the past 2.5 years meant a great deal to me. Carol loved to have fun, and told it like it was. She had my back always, and was such a great source of support for me. She was a true gem, one of a kind.

Carol exuded life and joy, being that I started in Vegreville in 1995, you think I would have known her really well, however she had an adventurous side (overseas assignments) so I missed really getting to know her. But if you could read a book by it's cover and by short interludes, she certainly had an infectious smile and always a kind and encouraging words and in the short times I've been in her presence she's been a good one to be around. From the day I first met her to the first time I saw her arrive back at CPCE. She is the kind of soul to want to be around and just maybe that's why she has her wings now. My deepest condolences to all those that held her dear in their hearts, and to Carol.... may you keep on smilin'. God Bless

Carol was the epitome of community. Wherever life took her, she embraced community - gathering people together to enjoy a commonality of purpose or identity making sure no one was isolated or left behind. Her passion for life and people filled her as much as it did others. Making a difference in the lives she touched is more evident now than ever. May her respect for others be considered part of her legacy. Deepest condolences to all who feel the void of her passing. We (Jim and I) grieve with you.

My condolences to her family and friends. I did not know her but I deeply felt the lasting impressions she left on her co-workers, during our grief session. Carol's spirit, kindness and joyous attitude will live on.
