Robert N. "Bobby" Spurrier Jr.

Robert “Bobby” Spurrier, 55, of Myrtle Beach, SC passed away on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Embrace Hospice House of Horry County. He was born April 12, 1962 in Charlotte, NC to the late Robert N. Spurrier Sr. and Blandina (Ward) Spurrier. He graduated from East Mecklenburg High School and then from Appalachian State University. He was a proud member of the Charlotte Fire Department for twenty years before relocating to Myrtle Beach. Bobby loved his children, Kelsey Spurrier, Kiersten Spurrier, and Robert N. Spurrier III. He also loved the beach, listening to music turn way up, and riding in his Jeep with the top down. Bobby is survived by his children and sister, Deborah Spurrier. The family wishes to acknowledge the compassion, care, and love of Bobby’s longtime friends and caregivers, including Paula Sawyer of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Lynn Sawyer of Myrtle Beach, SC. While Bobby was not in the care of Embrace Hospice House very long, the team’s immediate care and support was greatly appreciated by him and his family.

Bobby was indisputably a good man. In the time I knew him in High School and after College I always admired how he enjoyed life. We on earth may feel he is gone way too soon but clearly God has a far greater plan for him and I can rejoice in that. People who knew him are fortunate indeed to have experienced his gentle, kind spirit. Not enough men like him in the world.
