Andrew (Sandy) Kingston

I met Sandy in October 2018 at Costa's at the Overgate in Dundee. I had recently stepped down as chair of a community forum and we were meeting to discuss my joining the Dundee Local Licensing Forum. I wasn't looking for a community group where I'd be just another seat to fill. I listened to Sandy for the good part of an hour tell me about the DLLF. Not just what it did, but why; what it had accomplished, the people and agencies it had brought together, the challenges still to face. His passion gave me what I always look for in any organisation, be it occupational, community forum, activist group; a sense of purpose. Reading the memories, condolences and tributes fill me with regret that I did not know this man longer than was gifted me. My sincere and deepest condolences to Sandy's family, all the others who loved him and his many friends.

So saddened to hear this ,what a shock . Unbelievable .... . A great friend who i had the pleasure working with at Condor . Great mentor , plenty of laughs and pranks . Rest in peace mate . Condolences to all the family Pat Steve (Duggy) Duggan .x

I have such happy memories of working at DUSA alongside Sandy. I have so much respect and admiration for him in every aspect of his life and he is already missed and will be forever remembered. I was deeply saddened to learn of his sudden loss and my thoughts and prayers are with Val and all his family.

So sad and shocked to hear this news. I had the privilege of working alongside Sandy when he was chair of Dundee Licensing Forum. He was so passionate about this role and made a huge difference in raising it’s profile. I knew of the plans that he had for retirement and know he was very much looking forward to starting a new chapter in his life. He has certainly made me into a better person, both personally and professionally and my condolences go out to all his family and friends, he will be sadly missed x

So sad to here this news. Sandy was one of the funniest men I ever met. When caterer at Condor he issued the galleys cling film with a number on the inner when finished it had to be exchanged for a new one. Thoughts and love to the family RIP Sandy. Love Frankie

In circumstances like this Sandy would be the first person to check you were alright and would always have a Big Man cuddle available if needed. A week on and I still cant believe this has happened. Rest easy mate you're missed already.

Lost for words at your loss Sandy, just an absolute gent that will never be forgotten. Was so looking forward to retirement, absolutely gutted. I can see you now sitting there with your paper and a pint. RIP my friend...

I was both shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Sandy earlier this week . I worked with and for Sandy for four enjoyable years . Sandy was a true gentleman in every sense of the word and an all round lovely guy , everyone who worked or knew him within the DUSA organisation respected him and his "lead from the front" hands on approach. Sandy made "work" enjoyable with his sense of humour and diplomacy , very rarely fazed by anything or anyone ... He will be sorely missed .. RIP Sandy
