Big Al, Alan, Algie & many more names he was known by, however I am sure we all agree on 1 thing.....Alan Stafford was a kind, big hearted, helpful & loving Diva that blessed and brought happiness to everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A loving son who lived with his Mum until she passed away & brother to 5 sisters Al spent most of his working life as a crane driver in the Dockyard & also had many hobbies including Motorbikes, Monkeybikes, Scooters, Jet-Skis and so on. In addition, Al loved spending time socialising and holidaying with many of his different friendship circles. Sadly, Al took his own life on Wednesday 29th August 2018 and he will be ever so sadly missed. We would love to hear from all of his friends and family alike to share stories about their experiences with him so please do feel free to post any laughs you may have had with this wonderful man who will never be forgotten. Love you mate, always will Mandy, Roger, Liam, Leanne, Brooke, Kelly & Little Ones xxxx

To the Family and Friends of Alan, I wish to give my heart felt sympathies. I knew Alan only in the context of him being a neighbour to my elderly mum in Charminster, where he has most recently lived. Alan was friendly at the outset, a chap unlike anyone else in the apartment block, he quickly revealed himself to be a gentle giant. Volunteering to help my mum if ever she should need a hand, it was a great comfort to me to know that there was someone around who she could turn to. Always sunny and polite, the last time I saw Alan he was just going out on his Harley, looking absolutely dapper! He suggested I park in front of his garage because all the visitor parking at the block was taken. Such a gent! He will be sadly missed by the residents of Charminster. I meet Al in somerstown off canal walk at his garage were everybody met. He was a friendly lad who talked to us push bike riders all about motorbikes on his Suzuki PE. We become great friends and he would often get his mates to take us riding on the back of their motorbikes, it made me feel part of the gang and he nicknamed me Halfpint because of my height. This he still called me when we meet through out the years in the town. Once you were a friend of ALS you were friends for life. I was deeply saddened to hear the news that Al had passed away. In the short time I’ve known you, you were definitely one of the better blokes in life. Loud and always a good laugh even if it was taking the mick! Appreciated your advice just wish I could have returned the favour. Take care and RIP and we shall see you in the next life
