Alex Dorrens

I was shocked and saddened by the passing of a good friend and work colleague. Alex had a great attitude towards life and will be sorely missed by all. My thoughts and prayers are with his family at this time

You will be missed, it was a please knowing you and learning from you in the early days on the Helpdesk and into the NOC. You helped make work a fun place to be. Very sad for your family. Hope in your next journey you will find out if your ghosts are real :) Cat x

I was so shocked and saddened to hear about Alex this week. We worked together back in ops many years ago. We worked with Alan Graham, and I can still picture them, both with mischievous smiles, approaching my desk to tell me the latest gossip, they would make me laugh with their antics. I can’t believe they are both gone. When we moved departments, it was always lovely to bump into Alex and have a quick catch up. He was one of the nicest, genuine guys. I can’t imagine the gap he will leave in the lives of those who were closest to him. My heart goes out to his family.

I was really sad to hear of Alex's passing, we'd worked together for over 20 years and Alex was always a friendly genuine guy. He will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A total shock to hear the news... Alex not only shared the best name out there but also advice and guidance through teaching myself as an apprentice with challenging tasks such as handling the batches with a calm and patient attitude, even when I tested that patience with a couple mishaps. I think of his family and hope that however devastated they are that he will not be forgotten and that his life was a loved one.

Where to start ......... one lifes genuinely good guys. Will be sorely missed within SLC and in all aspects of life. My heart, thought and prayers are with his family and friends. Love Shona T x

Such sad news. Alex always conducted himself with real integrity and commitment in his time at SLC and was held in extremely high regard by all who knew him. A sharp sense of humour which served him well! A true gentleman and genuinely one of life’s good guys. Thoughts are with Alex’s family and friends at this difficult time.

Absolutely heart broken, Alex was more than a colleague but a true friend who I had the honour to laugh, cry, whinge and talk about horror movies until others were fed up. He will be truly missed and was one of a kind x
