Alan Edgington

It's hard to reduce Alan into a short paragraph, his humor, love for people and Alanisms are memories that will continue with me for a lifetime. I remember him using phrases like Lubricate the Badger or creating little groups within the baseball team (Club Tropicana & Spice Boys) Even when i finished playing baseball Alan would be a constant within my life. I remember playing football with him and him randomly just slapping the ball out of air because he wanted to or he decided it was Ice Hockey, I'm not to sure but that's an Alanism. I had the privilege of going to visit his house with Katy and his kids, i felt nothing but love and warmth and a sense of Alan joy that i was there. I even think he filmed me arriving, the nutter. One of my favourite memories of Alan was one day out of the blue getting a phone call from him, he asked me if i was at home and had any chicken and bread. I said yes, about a minute later he pulled up at my house. I made him a sandwich, he stood in my doorway ate the sandwich, complimented the sandwich and left. As ridiculous as this was this was textbook Alan, it wouldn't have the same innocence or humor if it wasn't Alan. I'm so sad, the world is a little less charming, less fun, caring, a little less weird.
