Agnes "Nan/Anne" McLaughlan (formerly Topping)

Passed away on Saturday June 1, 2019, at Hillsdale Estates, Oshawa, at age 94. Predeceased by her dear husband Bert, her mother Margaret, her father William “Pop”, her brothers Bill, Jim and George and sister Louisa. Nan is survived by her brother Sam. “Granny” will be very much missed by her daughter Lorraine, her son Bill and his wife Linda, and son Robert “Bob” and his wife Susan, as well as by her grandchildren Robert, Kirsten, Scott, Kim, Rachel and Nicola, and her fifteen great-grandchildren. Nan adored her family and was fiercely proud of her Scottish heritage. Her style, generosity, caring, sense of humour . . . and opinions . . . will be missed by everyone.

It is never easy to lose a loved one. My desire is that you find consolation in the promise of God found in Revelation 21: 3-4 that says that soon, "He, will cleanse all tears from our eyes, and death will no longer be, nor will there be more mourning or outcry or pain." We will see all of our loved ones when they are resurrected in a beautiful paradise here on earth, my deepest sympathy to the family.

Nan was one of my very best friends. I just loved her. We worked with each other in the Edinburgh Telephone Exchange and struck up an instant friendship that would last a lifetime. We had such good laughs together at work. Manies a good Saturday night we spent with her and Bert socialising. I am thinking of you all at this sad time with love and affection.
