Hope your drinking a barcardi up there Stevie G! I will never forget all the times in the office we would be chatting for hours about life and hearing all your funny stories (there is deffo more to Steve then we ever saw!!) You was one of a kind! The only person I could tell their hair was sticking up and you wpuld lick your fingers and smooth it down! I always remeber the lovely words when I left for Maternity 'get her in a papoose and get back in the office to actually do some work' Oh steve I could go on for hours but theyre all happy memories now and exactly how everyone will remember you! You would do anything for anyone and always someone who made me laugh, even if it was at your ridiculous dad jokes! You are so missed! Im sure your watching over us all picking your work up! (some things dont change eh) The office wont be the same without you! If i dont see you through the week ill see you through the window xxx

Stevie G!! You were the bane of my life for 20 years and I always thought I'd be coming to visit you in Benners after your retirement, not writing these words. With your all singing, all dancing laptop and your habit of saying whatever thought came into your head - you kept me on my toes Stevie. You could wind me up like no one else in work, you said it was your gift because you always like people more if you could have a good row! When I saw you in March you said 'You taught me good boss', I replied 'I never could teach you to keep your trap shut Dobbie.' I'm so grateful for that last laugh Stevie, so grateful for your stories of when you worked with my Uncle Jack, so grateful for your dubious charm and your never ending loyalty. Enjoy your rest Dobbie and carry on watching our back - we'll be raising a Bacardi and having a sing song just for you. Much love me old mate, Belinda, Roachy, Old Jack xx

Stevie G aka Dobby the Work Horse. I have no words to describe how I feel and can’t believe I’m writing this. What I do know is I’m going to miss you, our conversations about work, life, even the politics and all the laughter and joy you brought to mine and the teams working days. I’m going to miss the cig breaks, we promised each other we were going to give up, so I’m definitely setting this as a goal for this year!! The office or team will not be the same without your huge, generous, caring presence, and even though you drove me mad at times, I’d do anything to have them days back. Hi everyone I am very sorry to be emailing with some sad news today, regarding one of our GC-Employment staff, Steve Green, who sadly passed away yesterday. Many of you will know Steve, as he was previously the Lead ECC rep for the business unit and has been a valued member of GC-Employment since 2007. He worked on contracts such the East Manchester Job Shop, Salford Skills and Work, Work Choice and, most recently, the Work and Health team in Salford. Steve was always guaranteed to bring a smile, with his huge character, was extremely kind and would do anything for anyone. He was absolutely dedicated to supporting and helping vulnerable people, both inside and outside of work, and there are countless instances of him going the extra mile to support our customers. He was an inspiration to many with his kindness. Steve was very much part of the GC-Employment furniture and will be missed personally by me, and by many others in the company.
