Sergio joined QA in HE’s very early days, almost 7 years ago. He built a reputation as a multi-talented lecturer who taught a wide range of subject areas and always received exceptional feedback from his students both for his knowledge and patience. Sergio also managed the Ulster Graduate Certificate and developed a tremendous relationship with the University through his transparent and collaborative approach to managing the programme. Those who worked with Sergio directly, knew him to be a fantastic and supportive colleague who will be greatly missed. Sergio died on Saturday 23rd, having battled a long-standing health issue for over a year. He was supported by, and leaves behind wife, Susan, and their two young children.

It is never easy to lose a loved one. My desire is that you find consolation in the promise of God found in Revelation 21: 3-4 that says that soon, "He, will cleanse all tears from our eyes, and death will no longer be, nor will there be more mourning or outcry or pain." We will see all of our loved ones when they are resurrected in a beautiful paradise here on earth, my deepest sympathy to the family.

I am so sorry for your loss. I can't even begin to imagine the pain that you are experiencing. However, Jehovah God is someone who always knows how you feel and wants to you bring you comfort and hope. His Word the Bible promises: "Jehovah is close to the brokenhearted. He saves those who are crushed in spirit." (Psalm 34 verse 18) I hope this brings some measure of comfort to you, knowing you have someone to depend on while you endure the pain. My sincere condolences to Sergio's family. Sergio was renowned for the amazing support that he gave to his students and always being willing to help his fellow peers. He was also the most dapper gentleman I have ever met! Sergio will be greatly missed but the care, support and amazing impact that he has had on his students and peers will always be joyfully remembered.

Sergio will be greatly missed. I remember him as being a dapper dresser and always having a cheeky chuckle and that his face always lit up when he was talking about his family. He showed such dedication and support for students that they would often be knocking on the door, requesting that he teach them in future modules and throughout their studies. Always in our thoughts Sergio.

Sergio will be greatly missed, a wonderful man who was devoted to his family, friends, his colleagues and his students. Sergio was already an integral part of QAHE when I joined and was obviously passionate about everything that he did, he remained loyal to the business throughout. It is a deeply sad time and all my love and thoughts are with his family.
