Rosemary Hollis

Belated condolences- I worked briefly with Rosemary but she was very inspiring, caring, intelligent and full of life.

I was shocked and very sad to hear that Rosemary had passed away. She was a valued colleague and dear friend and I will miss her very much.

I was shocked and also so sorry to hear of Rosemary's untimely death. She was an inspirational colleague. We first met to discuss Olive Tree students studying Journalism and her dedication and commitment to this remarkable programme was extraordinary. The students from Israel and Palestine were indeed lucky to have her as the driving force. Over the years we had many long chats in her funny office next to the Great Hall, we did a couple of panels together both at City and for the Oasis of Peace (Neve Shalom, Wahat al Salaam) foundation. Rosemary was always insightful, authoritative and wise. She will be much missed.

I met Rosy in 1986 socially in the U.S. with other George Washington University students and staff. The group travelled together on short trips dozens of times and over 32 years, Rosy joined us many times. She was not my professor or colleague, but I observed in her the faith that following your passion and something you believe in can create a productive landscape intellectually, spiritually, socially and professionally. She was amazed at what humanity could nourish and positively bring to itself and as well how it could negatively dehumanize itself through propaganda (mostly my words of course.) I say we raise a glass to her and wish that learning from each other always leads to breaking down the walls that make us forget we are all on the same team.

I was so sad to hear this news. Rosemary was such a bubbly character. She livened up every meeting we attended together.

Devastating news! I am so, so sad to hear that Rosemary has passed away. I have to admit that since I left City I have had very little contact with her but I do remember her with great admiration and respect. She was always kind and supportive with me. I will never forget her. It is a great loss.
