Raina Myson

Raina was nothing short of a whirlwind of energy and laughter, whose presence will always be felt through the fact that our two children build everything on the foundation she provided. Her resilience and fortitude is an example to everyone, and we will miss her greatly. Our thoughts go out to Richard, Hannah, and Chloe.

I will always remember Raina as a ray of sunshine with a wonderful smile. She was a lovely person who was always so committed to the children she taught. Raina asked me to go down to Nursery on a few occasions to talk to children in their native language as she could see that they were struggling in the new English-speaking environment. A lovely teacher and a lovely person. I'll miss you xxxx

Such a caring, kind and inspirational teacher to so many children. Raina's resilience and unbelievable work ethic over recent years has been tremendous. She gave so much to so many people and she will be hugely missed. Sending all our love to all of you.

Oh, CHICKEN!!!!! Raina always let me call her, "Chicken", which I think secretly annoyed her as much as it gave me pleasure...She did humour me, though. I've been fortunate enough to know Raina as not only as a part of our team, but also as a friend. I have watched her impact the lives of children (our youngest and most vulnerable) year on year since I started at BSB in 2015. I have often marvelled at how little time it has taken her to transform a group of desperate, sobbing little ones into bold, confident little BSB citizens. (And I have always wondered, as I tried to support crying 2 year olds creating giant snot trails on my suits, how Raina always did this with a smile and sense of humour...) Raina has been one of the most brave, inspirational people I have ever met, and her journey over these last 8 years, however difficult, has been one she has meant to conquer. In spite of her struggles, she found time to love, laugh, entertain, travel, support others and work her socks off. Thank you for so many wonderful memories, Raina, and parties, and for looking after our bunny during holidays, and helping us get gas for our BBQ, and bringing us Marmite and HP Sauce, and playing silly board games that made us laugh until we doubled over in pain, and swimming in your pool that was so cold it could cryogenically preserve an old person like me. Thank you for coming into school every day, no matter what, and for showing us what determination and utter commitment can make possible. We already miss you so much. But the good news is...no more flooded basements. :) We love you, Chicken. And our thoughts go out to your wonderful family. Richard, Chloe, Hanna, you will always be family at BSB.

Raina was an exceptional and cherished member of our community, whose warmth, kindness, and unwavering dedication touched the lives of countless students, staff, and colleagues. Throughout her many years of battling cancer, Raina demonstrated unparalleled strength and resilience. Her ability to come to work with a smile, despite her personal challenges, made her an inspiration to us all. Raina's contributions have played an invaluable role in shaping our school's culture and fostering an environment where everyone felt welcomed and supported. As we come together to celebrate Raina's life and the legacy she leaves behind, we are reminded of the power of the human spirit and the impact one person can have on so many lives. May we all continue to honour her memory by embodying the values she held dear and cherishing the moments we shared with her.

You will be greatly missed! We were so lucky to be around you and to be able to see how to lead our lives with your example... With love, persistence, commitment, courage, and positivity. May you rest in peace!

From the very first moment I met Raina during our Induction Week at BSB, I knew she was the kindest, warmest and most loving lady. She has been an inspiration to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She fought the hardest fight without complaining and with courage. She is a huge loss to us all, but mostly to her wonderful family. To Richard, Chloe and Hannah, my heart goes out to you. You are all part of our family here and we're here for you. Cherish the memories and keep these close to your heart. Sending all my love and sympathy to you.

Raina touched our hearts and we are so blessed to have known her. She was a wonderful, strong and wise colleague, a generous teacher to our children and an inspiration to us in so many ways. To see beyond the immense grief of losing Raina is impossible now. But what she leaves behind is so precious and wonderful, that we can only be grateful. Raina has left a piece of her behind in her two wonderful daughters. All our deepest condolences go to them and Richard. Raina, your beautiful smile will stay in our hearts forever. Rest in peace.
