Pastor Roy (Desmond, Dez) Ormsby

In reflecting on the profound impact Pastor Ormsby has had on so many lives, Clive and I extend our sincere condolences to you Sister Sharon and the members of the London Church. Pastor Roy's life of commitment and service to the Lord is an epitome of how we as children of God should live. May you cherish the fond memories and legacy he left behind, as we all strive to meet him in the Great Beyond! With blessings as you endure the difficult days ahead.

We cannot Lord, Thy purpose see but all is well that’s done by Thee Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord from henceforth: Yeah saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them (Revelations 14:13). Indeed, my friend and Pastor died in the Lord, and we look forward to that great resurrection day! I can recall that from the early days, as Pastor Ormsby came into the church (then as a brother) he was a very respectful and personable individual who was ready and willing to do service for the Lord. He was never one to back down from any call to spread the gospel. I recall that even though he was very dedicated servant of God, he was a jovial and down-to-earth individual and one who showed kindness to everyone around him…. I have had the opportunity to interact with him in several ways… I can never forget those days when he was the assigned driver of the church bus (the red and white Volks Wagon), he was always ready to respond to the call of the Prayer Band, transporting them across the island so that they could carry out their assignments – even dedicating his time to spend the weekend away from home as the task would require. He was always ready to and used every opportunity to expound the Word of God, as he encouraged people to surrender to the Lord and to hold on to God’s unchanging hand. Even during his illness, he was an encourager… I recall that on 2 occasions when he came to Jamaica, he made it his point of duty to come to visit with me; and I was always blessed by these visits as he would not leave without praying form me. To the family, I say to you death is not the end for the child of God… as the song says, “Christians never die, they only say goodbye” So as you say goodbye to your loved one, I encourage you to remember him with a smile today, he was not one for tears, recall the happy moments you shared, and keep strong as you hold on to Jesus. To the Church in London, this loss is tremendous but be encouraged by the example he has set for you and embrace the legacy he has left behind…. He will truly be missed by us all as a Church family, but we trust the Almighty that what he has allowed, is well done!

Special condolences to Sis Sharon and the rest of family. Mr Roy was a wonderful person and he will be greatly missed. So sorry for your loss. I know that God will take care of you.

Dedicated, Endearing, Sincere, Man of God, Obedient, Neighbourly, Devoted. To the family of Pastor Ormsby and especially to Sharon his dear wife and friend, I know that as you mourn such a great loss of such a man of God as described by the preceding adjectives, your mourning will not be as those who have no hope. But as you reminisce on the various experiences and aspects of his journey that you shared, you will be comforted by the fact that he lived a full and fulfilling life and that he was satisfied that he had fulfilled his purpose for which he had been given to you/us to the extent that he repeatedly expressed his desire to go to be with his Lord. Keep strong in the Lord, cry if you must, laugh at the fun times shared with him and rejoice in the fact that there are many jewels in Pastor's crown. Love you Shar. ❤️

In loveing memory of a dear friend and pastor and my child daddy who sent from God Turley he was a good father and a strong pastor we miss you so much .but your work is finish now so sleep and take your rest. To my loveing sister who is my daughter mom please keep strong the mighty God of heaven will take care of you.

my condolences to the Ormsby family. Grief is an awful feeling, but I pray as time goes by it lessens and lessens till it’s only beautiful memories and no pain. Pastor was an incredible man who helped me in so many ways and i am eternally grateful. I pray we can continue his legacy.

Our greatest condolences to you Evangelist Ormsby and to other members of the family, and church family as well,particularly England Church family. Pastor was no ordinary person.Always put out his best for the Lord
