Nina, last week, I learned of your passing. These beautiful condolence messages show how much you were loved. We all miss you. Gone too soon too soon too soon

Your songs were always expressed in beautiful stories. Or was it that your stories were always expressed in beautiful song. That voice! That talent! That Spirit! We love and miss you.

We're still in shock. Nina was a unique and special treasure that God sent into this world. She had a beautiful singing voice in addition to a calm, compassionate speaking voice. As a gifted artist, she used art therapy to minister to children who had been abused. As a staunch animal lover and defender, there were often stray cats on her porch when she lived on Quail Run. One cat was so at home, he wouldn't even move or get out of the way when anyone came up the stairs. The cat acted like he had paid a month's rent on that porch. Nina kept feeding that fat lazy cat. My sister and I used to marvel at Nina's generosity and kindness, even when it wasn't reciprocated. She is among our "cloud of witnesses" that the Bible speaks of. Beautiful soul, we miss you.

Nina Nina Nina... My girl. I loved her from the first time i met her. Such a SWEET ANGELIC SISTA QUEEN. I am sooo happy that our paths crossed. You are missed but not Forgotten...SING FOR THE ANCESTORS. LOVE YOU

Nina, Until we meet again, I will treasure our friendship; remember your beautiful smile/vocal talent/harmonies, your dry humor and infectious laugh. Not mention our great DivaRet sessions, on and off-stage. Also, much spiritual love for your wise counsel for a SistaFriend ‘I’M SO GLAD WE HAD OUR TIME TOGETHER’

What a refreshing inspiration! One of my biggest fans, she encouraged me to sing more; and often attended my poetry events at Hammonds House Museum and in Atlanta parks. I loved her singing and cool style. No subject was off limits for us from culture to romance to writing. She wrote fiction, too. In our last conversation, she suggested that I learn "Don't Shove" and I'm gonna do it, too, one day. She laughed a soft and natural melody and it will forever ring in my heart. May the ancestors welcome you!

Such a sweet spirit; and talented, passionate vocalist, with a contagious smile. Gone too soon. Rejoice in heaven sweet lady.

Nina's voice still echo's in my memory of conversations that made us laugh and those that we chose to linger on with contemplation that could last for hours. My friend, may your passage into the bardos be light and your spirit always be free. Ashay
