Neil Yule

I will always remember Neil, as a kind, caring, intelligent, and witty man. Reading some of the comments makes me smile and cry at the same time. Remembering some of his sayings (he needs to have a word with himself. Was one I remember, so well). He was taken far too soon and will be missed by so, so many xxx

Mr Yule, what a top fella and true friend! For 30 years+ we japed, quizzed, made up our own rhyming slang (footballer first tended to be the rule) and didn’t half have some memorable boozy do’s. Having played football with him on numerous occasions he named us the ‘GSF’ – Ginger Strike Force’. I could only wish to have been half as good as Neil at football, he was an absolute goal machine. Thinking back It’s probably the only time NY referred to his hair colouring as ginger … he much preferred strawberry blonde. Talking of hair colouring, Neil is the only person I know that when on holiday and spent more time under the sun umbrella, covered with factor 90 (it wasn’t really) sun cream, than I do! I was honoured that he accompanied me on my stag ‘week’ and I always felt that any occasion was made more special if Mr Yule was in attendance. His infectious personality and humour enlightened us all. ‘Yule’ (sorry but that’s the sort of rubbish pun we often traded) be well and truly missed bro and always remembered. Get a quiz lined up for when we come to join ya! Love you mate. Xx

Neil was just one of those people you meet in life who you just instantly clicked with. Amiable, such a great sense of humour, who had one of those minds which allowed him to dredge up things that everyone else had long forgotten!! I used to call him "Rain Man" because of his talent. We worked closely together and spent hours (sorry work) chatting about anything from long forgotten 80's music, our football rivalry, tennis, cooking, TV, travel. You name it, we talked about it. We used to call each other Saint & Greavsie (if you can remember them). I was 'Saint' to his 'Greavsie' when it came to predicting weekly football results and was chuffed to bits for him when he won £500 last season. Outside of work, we had a few rounds of footgolf which was a blast and great fun, and I know he really enjoyed that as it brought out his inner competitiveness. "Now then geezer", "Wise words" were a couple of his catchphrases that'll live long in the memory. I was absolutely heartbroken when I heard the news (still am) and I will miss him terribly. I'm absolutely honoured to have known him and truly proud to call him a friend. Thank you for everything Neil.

I met Neil 8 years ago when I joined the Speech team. He was always so friendly, approachable, helpful and had a great sense of humour. I will always fondly remember when our conversations would turn to music, both being avid music fans, his knowledge was astounding. Will miss him and all the chats we used to have about anything and everything. A great guy who has sadly left us far too soon

Neil was a pleasure to work with. He was just the type of person you'd want on your team - a team player, who took such pride in his work, and delivered it with a great sense of humour! Rest in peace x

I'd not worked with Neil very long and didn't know him well but always found him very helpful and extremely knowledgeable. A gentleman, he left us far too soon and will be greatly missed.

I first met Neil about 25 years ago when our 4 offices merged and Neil came onto my Team. He became my Deputy Team Leader and proved himself time and again to be reliable, honest, hard working. We quickly became good mates which was enhanced when I joined the Sheffield Sports Quiz Team. He had a massive sporting knowledge which I could only dream of having. Yuley was one of those annoying people who was good at any sport he turned his hand to...football, golf, tennis, snooker etc. Lads nights out, and days away, were legendary and Neil was an integral part of the group. If only I could have convinced him he supported the wrong football team!!RIP mate you will be missed.

I met Neil 4 years ago when our teams joined together. His love of sport and music was always a topic of conversation when I was in Sheffield. We often used to end team engagement calls with a quick quiz and he would often win - he was an oracle of facts and information. A lovely man - really good at what he did and passionate about making a difference to customers through the insight he found.
