Mike Eldred

My sincerest condolences to Mike's family. I still can't get over the shock and am truly saddened by this tragic news. An exemplary leader and a good friend. I have some everlasting memories of Mike, a gentleman through and through. He will truly be missed.

Mike started as my manager in Barrow on the Successor programme in 2014 and most definitely became my friend. A man with huge energy, sense of urgency and drive and naturally personable. As many will say what shocking, saddening and tragic news this was to hear about Mike. I truly will miss and always remember Mike he has left lasting memories with me as I am sure he has with so many others. My condolences to his family. you will truly be missed Mike!

Mike was the first person I met when I started at BAE seven years ago, over the years as we both moved around the company he became more than just my line manager, he stayed a consistent ally, mentor, advice-giver and someone I could always rely on for a chat, moan or laugh. We often spoke about his sons and what next adventure he was planning, his love of the outdoors was infectious. My sincere condolences to Mike's family, thank you for sharing him with us.

Mike was a man full of energy and joy, always so passionate and creative. He was wonderfully supportive and encouraging to those who had the pleasure of knowing him. He is in our thoughts and we send our deepest condolences to Mike's family.

I am so sorry for your loss! Mike was an amazing man, someone who always made time for me despite being so busy. He was someone I greatly looked up to and will miss. He was a great example of a leader and great mentor to me. Thank you for everything Mike!

Sending my deepest condolences to Mike's family. Having worked with Mike since joining BAE, I feel truly lucky to have met and worked with him. Mike was one of the few people I got to actually meet when I joined during the pandemic and he instantly made me feel at ease and continued to offer his support and guidance throughout our working relationship. I will remember fondly our Christmas week catch-ups, joking that we'd fallen foul with our annual leave planning again! A true gent, who made a huge impact on everyone around him. He will be greatly missed.

Mike was just a great guy. I worked with him in Combat Systems and then again in the COO team and he was always a really positive force for good. He is already missed and will always be. My deepest condolences to Mikes family.
