Maureen Jones

Sorry to hear of Maureen's death. As my Godmother, she always made me feel special, even from the other side of the world. I remember the small gifts she'd send and consistent birthday wishes including the one that came with the news that her health was shifting and she was having trouble staying awake. I know my parents always valued their friendship. Blessing to Wayne, Mel, Sam and the rest of the family at this time.

My mom. A true lady. Always polite and courteous. Loving and wise. A brave adventurer and brilliant business woman. Hard working and humble. Always caring and kind. You are missed and loved dearly mom and you will still be right here with us always.

Grandma, I have no words for how much you mean to me. I love you so much and miss you even more. I’m so lucky I have 2 voicemails of you from last week and the last one said “ I’m Here Raven” and every time I want to hear your voice I will listen to that one and know you are here with me in my heart and by my side! Lots of love my bestfriend xxx

Aunty Maureen was always kind to us, I'll never forget she greeted us with open arms and showed us respect, trust, love and her fabulous tea parties. She continued to check up on us over the years. Her words of wisdom always helpful and empathetic. She really knew how to make us feel like we were loved. Her last message to me was to give mum a hug for her and I promise I will soon. Fly High Aunty.

Wayne, Sam, Melanie, and family….. I am so sorry to learn of Maureen’s passing….there are so many memories of mo…beginning in Stayner when our daughters played ringette….we become friends…then Wayne with his family in tow moved to Australia….we kept in touch…fb, phone calls etc..and of course the the most important was our Christmas letter…visits by mo when she came back to Canada on visits….Allen and I were lucky to spend 2 weeks with mo in Australia..where Mo was such a gracious hostess…trips to the zoo (am emu broke Wayne’s camera strap)…road trip along the ocean road…..watching a storm come across the ocean…trip with mo in to Melbourne……we will never forget that trip…..we did have plans to visit again..but alas it was not to be….inwill remember mo as a kind person, a super hostess, a great mum…a loving person…...so many memories…….rip my friend…till we meet again…..

I meet Maureen when working at Oxiana and became friends, I am deeply saddened by her passing, I will miss our catch ups we had every time she came over from NZ. Deepest sympathies to Wayne and family

I am so sad to hear of her passing Maureen and I were friends from public school, and because our big brothers were friends, we saw allot of each other. We stayed friends all through high school. then she was the lucky one that ventured off . I hope her life was a happy one, and that she lived it well we were lucky that she made one appearance on zoom, a year or so ago

Although we have lost touch other than via FB and Christmas letters since Maureen and Wayne 'deserted' Ontario all those years ago, I have many fond memories of our years together at NTCI high school. 'Mo' as I’ve always known her was a great athlete, a majorette, always the life of the party, but above all a loyal friend. We even roomed together for a while during university years…oh the fun we had! I'll reach out to our Class of ‘65 with this sad news…we last 'saw'' Mo when she joined us all on a Zoom call during Covid. I know they'll all join me in sending sincere condolences to Wayne, Samantha, Melanie, her two granddaughters + her siblings Peter, Barb and Bob, who we all knew as well.Rest in Peace dear friend…but have some fun up there too!
