Matt Dunham

I remember Matt from EY over 30 years ago, he was just just starting out , how the years have raced by. He was incredibly engaging and sincere. I observed his progress in various high profile insolvencies and in early February we exchanged emails about his new venture with John Dean, who I also fondly remember from Silkhouse Court. Matt was due to attend the ICAEW 150th celebrations at Liverpool Town Hall in March and then it was cancelled due to Covid19. He indicated he was looking forward to meeting up and I concurred, even though we had not met in over 25 years. My condolences go out to his family. RIP Matt.

All at our firm feel incredibly privileged to have called Matt both a colleague and a true friend. It some how feels like there is a jigsaw piece missing in our daily lives that may not be found again with Matt D passing. Matt had a rare ability to make everyone in the room feel special and listened to, whilst at the same time demonstrating real wit. All of our well wishes turn to his fun loving family and the Dunham Dean team at this time for whom we will always be here to support if they should ever need us.

As has been said by so many, Matt was one of the good guys. Matt was always the first to offer to help and always willing to find time to catch up, sort problems and generally be a good mate. Matt always lived life to the full which is a lesson for us all. He will be sadly missed by the communities of the northwest.

I was at the Neale Wade School with Matthew and families were friends . I only learnt of Matthew's untimely death last week, and I still can't quite take it in. Matthew was very kind when my mum died and at the time we promised to keep in touch. Sadly that never happened. It is know surprise that the kind clever young man I knew, grew into a well loved family man and good friend to many and valued, generous member of society. I would like to send my condolences to Sue and his family. My thoughts and prayers go out to you all.

I am deeply saddened about Matt’s untimely departure. I first met Matt some 20 years ago; more recently saw him every few months at R3 Council meetings. He was, as others have so aptly said, a true professional, he was kind, on the ball but unfailingly courteous, witty and funny. A great loss to the restructuring profession and all of his friends. A huge loss to his family. My sincere condolences.

Such sad news to hear about the loss of one of life's gentlemen. Always positive and full of good humour. One of my earliest memories of him is a vague recollection of drinking chocolate cocktails in a Llandudno nightclub on a golf trip nearly 20 years ago! I raise a glass to him now - rest in peace my friend.

Matt was one of the good guys, always having time for a chat and offering support. A true gentleman and professional who will be sadly missed. Our thoughts are with Matt's family at this tragic time. Rest in peace Matt, you were taken too soon.

I knew Matt first at Robson Rhodes some considerable time ago, he was always a positive and helpful colleague and friend. It was a surprise to discover that we grew up in almost neighbouring towns in the Fens, and had many shared experiences from childhood. I saw him quite rarely after Robson Rhodes, but remember Matt always had time for a chat whenever we did meet . A very sad loss of a warm, compassionate man.
