Mary Bernadette Bryden
xx xx, xxxx - xx xx, xxxx
Bryden, M. Bernadette, 74, passed away in the Halifax Infirmary on May 10, after a brief illness. Born in Baddeck, her family moved to Halifax in 1950. She was the daughter of the late James R. and Lillian (MacIsaac) MacLellan. Bernadette is survived by her son, Kevin; sisters Janet, Edmonton; Frances Carmichael (Alex), Elderbank; Pauline, Halifax; Joan Crawford, Kingston; Roseanne Rice, Halifax; nephews and nieces James Carmichael, Christina Tsmikilis, Donald Carmichael, Jennifer Crawford, David Carmichael, and Lucas Crawford. In addition to her parents, Bernadette was predeceased by three sisters Anne, Mary Delores, and Mary Christena, and brothers-in-law Phil Schadlosky and Brian Crawford. In 1965 Bernadette graduated from the Halifax Infirmary School of Nursing. She retired from the Halifax Shipyards after 25 years as an occupational health nurse. Family meant everything to Bernadette, and her favourite time was family gatherings. As long as she was able, she attended the Halifax Farmers Market on Saturday mornings. Her appreciation and support of local farmers was a priority. Funeral service will be held at St Agnes Church (Mumford Road) on Wednesday, May 15 at 11 a.m. A reception will follow in the church hall. The family wishes to thank the nurses, doctors and staff of 8.2 for their compassionate care. Condolences to Bernadette's son, Kevin, and to all her sisters. Our families were close as could be back in the old neighborhood and I am sad to hear the news (though almost a year as since passed as I am seeing this memorial page and writing here). God's peace. Ray

It is never easy to lose a loved one. My desire is that you find consolation in the promise of God found in Revelation 21: 3-4 that says that soon, "He, will cleanse all tears from our eyes, and death will no longer be, nor will there be more mourning or outcry or pain." We will see all of our loved ones when they are resurrected in a beautiful paradise here on earth, my deepest sympathy to the family.

Bernadette's Family: My very sincere condolences on Bernadette's death. It was indeed a big shock to learn of it. She, Pat Walsh (deceased as well) and myself did many things together during our nursing program. I do remember visiting your home with her. We had lots of fun together. I was happy when we were able to reconnect after her retirement with our other class colleagues. I last saw her last August at one such gathering, we sat together, caught up again and later shared pictures. I was away and so was unable to attend her funeral. She will be missed. With very sincere sympathy, Marguerite Hornby Muise
