Marilyn LOVED her family and her beautiful yard and the myriad flowers and blooming plants she cultivated over her entire adult life. She was a beloved teacher to thousands of kids in the Greenville public school system and is remembered quite fondly by many. She was generous to a fault, feisty as hell, and quick to help anyone in need - whether it was financially, providing school supplies, or finding housing for hurricane victims who relocated to her home town. She was loving and kind, full of human faults, and an amazingly perfectly imperfect work in progress. She was LOVED and we will miss her terribly.

Marilyn was a friend of my late grandmother, Lillian Jernigan. I remember her as being kind and generous with her love and giving. She was a fantastic teacher, who loved all of her students and helped us be our best.
