Heartfelt condolences to Malcolm's friends and family. I worked as David and Gilly's temp in the very early days and remember Malcolm joining what was then the nascent ESRC Research Centre on Microsocial Change. I am sorry now, reading all the wonderful tributes, that I did not get to know him better. He was obviously a very special man.

A cruel illness that unfortunately has hit my family hard over the past few years. I was really sorry to hear about Malcolm's diagnosis and I truly admired his tenacious fight against this disease. I hope he has found peace now.
